After months of planning, our press launch for the King of Shaves Azor is tonight (Wednesday, 26th May 2010) at a 'secret location' in King's Cross, Sydney. Alongside Paul Irwin, CEO of King of Shaves Australia, I'll be introducing our revolutionary Azor to the Australian press, followed up by TV interviews and more. King of Shaves launched in Australia in 2003 (when I was last 'down under'), and I'm delighted with the retailer support for our Azor, which will debut at AUS$10.99 for an Azor handle & 2 Endurium cartridges, with our replacement cartridges priced at between AUS$2.50-3 - approximately half the price of Gillette Fusion & Fusion Power replacements.
What makes our Azor so special? Well, three things really. Firstly, through it's patented 'Bendology Technology' it shaves you CLOSELY yet COMFORTABLY - our Endurium cartridge as well as being 'Open Architecture' (ie stubble easily washes through) also has 'Blade Suspension' too - something only Gillette and King of Shaves deliver. Secondly, the cartridges last a lot longer - this is down to us using a special grade of Japanese 'hard' steel, with a sharper cutting edge and a proprietary Endurium coating. Some shavers claim six to eight weeks of close shave performance, when used with one of our AlphaOil shaving oils. Finally, our Azor costs less - when you launch into a sector with one very dominant competitor, we have been able to sell the Azor at a #FairShave price - ie, "Get the King of Shaves without the competitor's Ransom".
All of this, coupled with our Australian 'FAQ your Shave' strategy, means that Aussies who want a close, comfortable shave - without the cost - can now choose the Third Force in men's system shaving, new King of Shaves Azor.
For Azor product availability, please click this link, and if you're in the Circular Quays, Sydney area tomorrow, look out for our ShaveSquad and Dance Team - free product, shaves and more is going to be available. I'm also hoping to be on TV talking about King of Shaves as a challenger brand, now we've launched not just in Australia, but in the USA, Japan, South Africa & Brazil too, as well as continuing strong growth in our native UK.
Many thanks to all who've made our launch possible here - Paul Irwin & Dave McLeod (who runs King of Shaves New Zealand, also over for the launch), our PR team headed up by Paul Denham (find him here on Twitter) and many many more. Special thanks also to Patrick Kidd of Men's Hairdressers, Patricks of Sydney, who's kindly agreed to provide the talented ShaveSquad, and who will be attending the event.
