With JT benched, and England shorn of its inspirational leader on the pitch, only Crouch shone in a game that was truly woeful to watch. It's hard when you've aligned your brand with a sportsman of the calibre of John Terry, and based future marketing activities around England playing a key role in Euro 2008. I felt they would achieve yet another 'Great Escape', but it was sadly not to be.
Of course McClaren should go, but a fundamental rethink of how England works as a National team is imperative - we now have a clear window to rebuild and aim for the World Cup in 2010, but it was a sad footballing day. JT must be particularly gutted, with England's defence proving so weak - but hey, let's look forwards to our team playing as a team, with the will to win.
Onwards, upwards...

I think all the players on the pitch, possibly with the exception of Crouch and Beckham have to have a long hard look at themselves.
And, more importantly, I think the Premiership needs to have a foreign player cap. When teams like Arsenal has become virtually the French national football team then that indicates to me there is something seriously wrong.

Mourinho for Manager! I predicted this to Brian Maclaurin a year and a half ago. What with JT as captain, and Lampard, Wright-Phillips - we're a third of the way there to winning SA 2010!!!

Will, are you a Chelsea fan by any chance??? ;-)
Not sure on the foreign player cap, something is fundamentally wrong with coaching in England. I support a League One team (look towards the bottom, in fact as of yesterday look right at the bottom!) and in the last 10 years the level of talent coming through in the lower divisions is woeful. There is the odd talented player but most are very ordinary. It seems as though every man and his dog has UEFA 'A' or 'B' license which is great - the only thing that concerns me is that as far as I am aware no coach has ever failed the course!
Annoying for you guys that JT isn't there, if you want to get involved with some winners for 2008 give me a shout ;-)
