Check this fat boy out. 9" wide (unnecessary, environmentally unfriendly secondary packaging). 64Mb Memory Stick - because every razor should have one. Yours for a jaw dropping £9.99 at Tesco, plus remember each and every replacement blade you'll then have to buy (for as long as you own it, or until something better comes along) will cost between £2-2.50. Gillette. The Most Awesomely Expensive Shave A Man Can Get

Seems a fantastic deal to me! better than the RZR thingy that boots were selling a couple of years back that had KoS samples attached to it. On razors Gillette are still the best a man can get. Blades last for months - so £2 doesn't bother me.

well, i disagree, and the blades most certainly don't last for months (weeks, certainly). would be interesting if gillette had some serious competition, don't you think? what with 81% of market share in shaving (over 90% in the USA...) plsd you are following my blog though, what shaving software do you use? wk

Competition is never a bad thing I agree - however hats off to the Gillette boys on the razors and blades as they are miles ahead of the rest on systems. In disposables I see it as there is little difference between Gillette/Wilkinson Sword and BIC all of which work fine. Ok, say the blade lasts 3 weeks - for £2 that's not bad! In terms of shaving software at £1.98 (which you can usually find it for) I think Alphagel is the best on the market.

good points. you may be interested to know that we launched alphagel at £3.79 in 1996, and it is now around the £2.99 mark, whereas Gillette products in hardware have got increasingly expensive across the board. my point is simply that knowing what the manufactured cost of cartridges like fusion or mach3 is, the cost to consumer is a huge one, purely to get a close, comfortable shave. our agel also lasts ages...well into the months! best wk
