OK - I think we have to accept that our summer is finally over! This does not mean though that you should pack away your SPF moisturisers and stop caring for your skin. There is a belief that you only need this protection when the sun is strong - but environmental factors play havoc with your skin all year round, so it's really important to keep protecting it.
Also, the Xmas season will see your skin take a further battering as alcohol, lack of sleep and rich food will all affect your skin's condition. So - keep moisturising and caring for your skin to ensure you look your best for the party season. And if all else fails, and you need a little help, take a look at our XCD range to help cover the damage! http://www.shave.com

Talking of winter shaving and skin care. I cycle a lot in the cold weather, when i get back from a ride my face is soooo dry, feels like it is about to crack and fall off. Do I moisturise before I go out and then when I get back after a shower?

You really need to get into a routine of moisturising your skin regularly rather than just reacting when it becomes dry.
I would suggest that you use an SPF moisturiser morning (after shaving) and at night. If you are going to be out cycling in this weather, then I would recommend that you also reapply it before you go out.
It's key that you apply moisturiser as soon after shaving and showering as possible to ensure you lock in as much moisture as possible. And an SPF product will help protect your skin in the longer term!

Thanks Nicky, that first sentence rather sounded like the ear-bashing I get from my girlfriend regularly! It's the bane of a cyclist in the winter time, hands and face take a real battering and get ridiculously dry and of course when you get back from a long ride in the cold it's great to stand under a long hot shower which just makes things worse.
Interesting that you advise to put it on before I go out, will give it a go.

To maintain good skin you need to use serious skin care. This doesn't mean that in order to have serious skin care you need to spend countless hours in the bathroom in front of a mirror. Rather serious skin care involves the careful analysis of your skin type and what specific techniques and products will help your skin look and feel great.
