Following the theme of the previous entry, it never ceases to amaze me that I can educate grown men on the best way to shave. It appears that you guys are happy to suffer pain and rashes when shaving, but moan constantly at the merest sign of a sniffle!! But then I realised that shaving is probably not something you are taught - it seems to be inherited by simply watching what your dad does. If he suffered pain and burning skin - you probably will too!!
This is (thankfully) changing as more and more education is available on how to achieve the perfect shave - but if you are a dad, make sure you teach your boys how to shave correctly. Getting them started with the correct products and a good techinque will save them years of pain and ensure their teenage (girl attracting) years are not marred by sore and bleeding necks!!!

As a method of beard removal, as you can probably guess, we would recommend wet shaving! That has not stopped one gentleman waxing his... click here to view, and try not to wince.
I was amazed to discover - whilst watching University Challenge - that the term Metrosexuality was coined in the 1990's. I had no idea that it had been around so long! Despite this - you men still haven't fully embraced the idea of looking after your skin. Most of you simply shave - no washes or scrubs and no moisturiser. Despite this - it apparently takes the average man 60 minutes to get ready for a night out. So what is it you do????
In fact - I'm not sure I want to know. But I would encourage you to divert some of the time to looking after your skin. I'm not suggesting you invest in a million and one miracle creams - just simply follow our 'Prime, Shave, Protect' routine and you really will notice a difference. I'll be filling you in on the routine over the next couple of blog entries - so you will have to come back!!
OK - I know it's only November, but some people have already finished shopping and wrapped all their presents - so the rest of us should as least start thinking about these things!
If you are stuck for an idea this year, take a visit to Boots and have a look at our selection of Ted Baker fine fragrance gift sets. With 10 different fragrances available, you will definitely be able to find one you like!
If you're not in the market for a fragrance, why not choose one of the King of Shaves or Fish grooming sets. We really do have something for everyone this year.
Get down to your local Boots store or visit http://www.boots.com.
Remember, there are only 42 days until Christmas Day!!!
OK - I think we have to accept that our summer is finally over! This does not mean though that you should pack away your SPF moisturisers and stop caring for your skin. There is a belief that you only need this protection when the sun is strong - but environmental factors play havoc with your skin all year round, so it's really important to keep protecting it.
Also, the Xmas season will see your skin take a further battering as alcohol, lack of sleep and rich food will all affect your skin's condition. So - keep moisturising and caring for your skin to ensure you look your best for the party season. And if all else fails, and you need a little help, take a look at our XCD range to help cover the damage! http://www.shave.com
So - the post office is on strike until Wednesday 10th October - rendering us unable to process customer orders. This means that our usual rapid service is on hold until then. We will endeavour to get all orders processed as soon as the strike is over - but I would like to apologise in advance for any delays you experience in receiving your goods.
OK - not fish as in Cod - but our Fish hair products - or in fact any waxes or products that you find tough to remove!!
If you have product build up - or are finding it hard to remove wax from your hair - you need to employ a technique called dry washing. Simply put - apply your shampoo to DRY hair and massage in. Leave for 2-3 minutes, then rinse. This technique breaks down any product build up or tough to remove product.
Easy!!
So - with the summer finally here (well, for a few days at least) - our thoughts are turning to holidays and the problems of what you can take in your hand luggage. Here are the current rules and regs and some details of which of our products you can take.
The Facts:
1. All liquids, gels and aerosols must be in 100ml / 3oz (90ml when flying from the USA) or smaller containers. Larger containers that are partially full are not allowed.
2. These items must then be placed in one re-sealable transparent bag, no larger than 20cm x 20cm (8" x 8") / quart-size, and fit comfortably inside the bag so it can be fastened closed. Only one bag per passenger is allowed.
3. Each passenger must remove their clear plastic bag from their hand baggage and place it in on the conveyor belt for X-ray screening

OK - I have the dubious of honour of having TWO blogs under my control - so the introduction for this may seem familiar - I've cheated and copied some of the info from my community blog!
My name's Nicky and I am the Customer Care Manager for all the KMI brands. I've been with the company for 4 years now - and have been in customer service for over 10 years. It's fair to say that I love my job - largely because I get to talk to people all day - and people who know me will verify the fact that I love to talk!
But don't panic - this isn't a new approach to our customer care. I won't be sharing your personal problems with the world (unless you want me to!) - please still contact me at care@shave.com - but I will be sharing useful tips, interesting issues and amusing anecdotes (yes, shaving can be funny!) It's simply another way for us to share our shaving know how with you. And you might even teach me a thing or two along the way.
We are new to this blogging lark - so be patient with us! Hopefully though, this will prove to be informative and interesting - but I'm sure you'll tell us if not!!
